This version is no longer available to download via the Package Installation Manager (PIM). Customers may only install or update to the latest version of Chargent, which includes features, enhancements, and fixes from all previous versions. Release Overview #
Chargent v8.11 provides a fix for the following issue: When a payment is attempted using a previously saved bank account Payment Method, the transaction fails. See the description below for more information.
Important: See the Known Issue affecting Adyen customers before updating Chargent v8.11.
This version updates the Chargent Anywhere package to v8.11, and all other packages to v8.10 (see previous release notes), resulting in the following package versions:
- Chargent Anywhere – 8.11
- Chargent Orders – 8.10
- Chargent Base – 8.10

Description #
Resolved: Issue processing a transaction using a previously saved bank account Payment Method
What: When a payment is attempted using a previously saved bank account Payment Method, the transaction fails, resulting in the error message noted below. Visit Setting Up Payment Methods and Understand Payment Methods Architecture to learn more about saved Payment Methods in Chargent.
Where: This issue affects bank account payments made using the Payment Console feature in the Chargent Anywhere component.
Error Message: Merchants experiencing this issue will receive one of the following errors when attempting to process a transaction using a previously saved bank account Payment Method:
- Not Approved – There was an error processing your transaction: Attempt to de-reference a null object.
- Not Approved – There was an error processing your transaction: Invalid regex: Dangling meta character ‘*’ near index 0 …
Resolution: Update Chargent to version 8.11 or later to resolve the error (see the Known Issue below before updating Chargent v8.11).
Known Issue #
Adyen Payment Gateway: Transaction Failures
What: This issue only affects merchants using the Adyen gateway integration. When using Adyen, it is not possible to perform a charge with a bank account token (including SEPA or ACH). Additionally, it is not possible to use a saved Payment Method (including credit card, SEPA, or ACH).
Important: Please refrain from updating to Chargent v8.11 if you use the Adyen gateway integration.
Where: This issue affects all payments created with the Adyen gateway integration.
Error Message: Merchants using the Adyen payment gateway who attempt to create a transaction using SEPA will experience one of the following errors:
- Error – Please enter a “IBAN”.
- Error – Please enter a Account Number.
- Error – Contract not found.
Status: We are actively working to resolve this issue and will provide an update as soon as possible.
