One of the best ways to save money is to save time. One of the best ways to save time is to automate mundane tasks, such as filling in forms, sending emails, or computing amounts. For example, you can streamline your accounts receivable process by activating Chargent’s Automated Collections feature to handle missed and late payments.
Chargent is native to Salesforce, allowing you to take advantage of a myriad of automation tools, such as flow, scheduled batches, and more. This page provides an overview of automated features in Chargent and examples of custom automation processes built by our most successful customers.
Batch Jobs #
Chargent uses Apex Batch Jobs in Salesforce to automate many out-of-the-box features. A batch Job allows specific tasks to run on a regular basis, such as daily or monthly. Chargent uses batch jobs to automate various billing processes and keep your transactions up to date. To learn more about Chargent’s Apex Batch Jobs, see What are the different Chargent Batches?
Account Updater
Imagine how nice it would be to know in advance when a customer’s credit card was about to expire. No need to imagine. Chargent stores this information and can send you an early alert so you don’t miss any payments. Activate Chargent’s Account Updater to allow your customers to update their credit card information before it expires.
Automated Collections
Late payments are an unfortunate part of life. But there is no reason to spend a lot of time sending emails or making phone calls to resolve them. Use Chargent’s Automated Collections add-on to handle this worry for you.
Recurring Billing
If your business model is like Salesforce’s, you charge customers for your products and services on a monthly basis. Whatever the frequency, you can automate a series of payments using Recurring Billing.
Transaction Sync
Transaction Sync is an automated batch job that runs behind the scenes to keep your bank account transactions up to date. Chargent can sync your transactions from the time they are initiated until they are settled.
Custom Automation #
Automating Chargent With Flow
Flow is the future of custom automation in Salesforce. We recommend using Flow for all Chargent-related automation, as it is the most comprehensive automation tool on the Salesforce platform. For more information about using Flow to automate Chargent, including example Flows, see Automating Chargent with Flow.
Automating Chargent With Process Builder
Salesforce is phasing out Process Builder in favor of Flow, and you can no longer create new processes using Process Builder. Instead, we recommend using Flow to create custom automation for Chargent or transitioning your existing processes to Flow. That said, customers who have previously created processes can edit and update them. For customers with existing processes, check out Automating Chargent With Process Builder for customization ideas and templates.
