A Chargent transaction is stored for every payment-related action with details in the following fields, listed alphabetically. Depending on your page layout or field-level security settings, some of the fields listed below may be visible or editable.

Amount available for Refund | Funds that are eligible to be returned to the customer |
Authorization | Unique string representing the authorization code returned by the payment gateway. |
AVS International | Stores a value from the gateway when executing international AVS (Address Verification Service). |
AVS Response Code | Displays the gateway’s response to AVS (Address Verification Service) checks. Use this value when troubleshooting transactions that resulted in an error related to the gateway’s Address Verification Service checks. |
AVS Zip | Some gateways store a value in this field when AVS is executed and the zip does not match. Use this value when troubleshooting gateway responses. |
Bank Account Last 4 | The last four digits of the bank account number |
Bank Account Name | This is useful for keeping track of which bank was used because account and routing numbers are typically not memorized. This is populated automatically based on data entered on the corresponding Order record at the time of the transaction. |
Bank Routing Number | This field displays the Routing (BSB, SWIFT, BIC, or IBAN) number used to process this transaction. It is populated automatically based on data entered on the corresponding Order record at the time of the transaction. |
Billing Address | Street name and address for the payment source used in this transaction. This can differ from the Billing Address on the order. |
Billing Address Line 2 | Any additional apartment, suite, floor, or unit details for the address associated with the payment source used for this transaction. This can differ from the same field on the order. |
Billing City | The city for the address associated with the payment source being used for this transaction. This can differ from the same field on the order. |
Billing Company | The name of the organization associated with the payment source being used for this transaction. This may differ from the same field on the order. |
Billing Country | The country for the address associated with the payment source on this transaction such as “United States” or “Canada.” This may differ from the same field on the order. |
Billing Email | Enter the email address for all billing notifications related to this transaction. This may differ from the same field on the order. |
Billing Fax | Enter the fax number for the person or organization paying for this transaction. This may differ from the same field on the order. |
Billing First | Enter the first name of the payer on this transaction. This may differ from the same field on the order. |
Billing Last | Enter the last name of the payer on this transaction. This may differ from the same field on the order. |
Billing Phone | Enter the phone number of the payer for this transaction. This may differ from the same field on the order. |
Billing Postal Code | Enter the zip code or postal code of the payer on this transaction. This may differ from the same field on the order. |
Billing Province | This field displays the Billing Province for the Billing Address associated with the card or bank payment. It is populated based on data entered on the corresponding Order record at the time of the transaction. |
Billing State | Enter the state of the payer on this transaction. This may differ from the same field on the order. |
Card Last 4 | The last four digits of the number on the card. |
Cash Disbursement | This field displays the cash disbursement record automatically generated when the transaction was refunded. It is used by the Accounting Seed integration. |
Cash Receipt | This field displays the Cash Receipt record that was automatically generated for Accounting Seed when the transaction was created. |
Credit Card Name | Displays the first and last name of the card used for this transaction. This field auto-populates with the Billing First and Billing Last name on the corresponding Order record. |
Credit Card Number | This field displays the full card number used for this transaction on Chargent orders created using gateways with tokenization disabled. |
Credit Card Type | Displays the card network or brand of the card used for this transaction such as Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, MC Eurocard, UK Maestro, JCB Card, Solo, or Electron. |
Currency | Displays the flat currency used for this transaction. |
Customer Token | Populated by some gateways with a string of characters unique to that customer’s profile. This can be referred to as the “Customer Profile ID,” “Customer Token,” “Profile ID,” or “Recurring Profile ID” in the gateway’s customer portal. |
Description | This field is populated by data entered in the “Order Information” field on the related Order record. This is used for Level III transactions that require more detailed information about the transaction. |
Details (Authorize.net) | This displays a link to the gateway transaction details for Authorize.net transactions. |
Details (Payflow) | This displays a link to the gateway transaction details for Payflow transactions. |
Gateway | Displays the gateway record used for this transaction. |
Gateway Date | The date and time this record transacted. |
Gateway ID | Unique reference number returned to Chargent by the payment gateway. If this field contains “Chargent Error,” Chargent has prevented the transaction from being sent to your payment gateway. Any other value in this field was generated by your payment gateway. |
Gateway Response | The full text of the response from your payment gateway to use in troubleshooting a transaction. For more information specific to your gateway, see Understanding Response Codes. |
Ignore In Payment Console | When true on an Approved Authorization, this field causes this transaction to be ignored by the Payment Console and not prompt to be captured or voided. |
Order | Lookup to the Chargent order record related to this transaction. |
Payment Method | This field indicates whether this transaction was completed using a Card or Bank Account / eCheck / ACH. |
Payment Method Applied | Displays which payment method was chosen for this transaction. For more information, see Setting Up Payment Methods. |
Payment Request | This field shows a clickable link to the associated Payment Request record for this transaction. Click this to view the details of that Payment Request, including a clickable link directly to the Payment Request itself. |
Reason Code | Displays the Reason Code as provided by the gateway that indicates if the transaction was successful. Reason codes typically can be found in the gateway documentation or portal and will differ depending on the issue and status of a transaction. |
Reason Text | This field displays a brief summary of whether the transaction was successful. |
Recurring | Checkbox that is set to true when the transaction was created by the recurring batch process. |
Response | Similar to the Reason Code field, this displays a code indicating whether a transaction was successful. |
Response Code | This field is populated by the gateway and provides a code (often a numeric string) that reflects the reason for a success or decline. This code is useful when troubleshooting decline reasons, and can typically yield a detailed explanation in web search results. Customers should check their gateway’s documentation for more details on what each code means. |
Response Message | Any additional transaction details received from the gateway will be displayed here such as “This transaction has been approved.” |
Response Status | The state of the transaction such as “Approved,” “Declined,” or “Error” received from the payment gateway. |
Security Response | Populated by the gateway response, this field indicates whether the CVV / CSC matches what the card issuer has on file. This is especially useful when a decline occurs due to an improper CVV / CSC value being entered. |
Settlement Date | This field is populated by the gateway for transactions when the Sync feature is active. The Settlement Date field stores the date when the Transaction Status of a transaction is changed to final (such as “Settled” or “Voided”), after which it will no longer receive any updates. |
Settlement Time | This field is populated by the gateway for transactions when the Transaction Sync feature is active. The Settlement Time field stores the time when the Transaction Status of a transaction is changed to final (such as “Settled” or “Voided”), after which it will no longer receive any updates. |
Smart Payment Routing Rule | Displays the name of the flow if one was used to choose which gateway to use when processing this transaction. For more information, see Smart Payment Routing. |
Tokenization | The token that was used or established for this transaction. |
Transaction ID | The unique name for the transaction that is automatically assigned by Salesforce. |
Transaction Status | If your gateway provides status updates for certain types of transactions, those updates display in this field. |
Type | The kind of transaction submitted, such as Authorization, Charge, Void, or Refund. |
