That’s why we’re pleased to announce the general availability of our Payment Methods feature. Our goal was simple: make it easier, quicker, and more secure to take payments anywhere.
Streamline your customer payment experience, lower cart abandonment rates, and boost sales by providing your customers and staff with a one-click payment experience. With Payment Methods, your payments are quicker, and your customer payment data is more secure.
Chargent v7.50 also delivers the addition of Permission Set Groups to the Chargent application, as well as bug fixes.

Payment Methods #

Implement a smoother payment experience for your customers and staff by removing the need for manual entry of payment data, and providing an intuitive interface for saving and selecting stored cards and bank accounts with Payment Methods.
Experience Cloud Payments
Friction in the payment experience increases cart abandonment rates and lowers online revenue. Now your customers can select their saved payment methods in a single click during checkout.
Call Center Payments
Manual entry increases case resolution time and increases the likelihood of data entry errors. Now your call center staff can select your customers’ saved payment methods in a single click when collecting payment.

Notes
- Existing Chargent Orgs: Navigate to Chargent Settings > Payment Methods to enable this great new feature.
- New Chargent Orgs: If your initial installation of Chargent was at v7.50 or above, Payment Methods will be enabled by default.

Enhancements #
Addition of Permission Set Groups #
Salesforce’s Permission Set Groups (PSG) functionality has been implemented within Chargent Settings, providing a more intuitive process for assigning Chargent functionality permissions to users.
Chargent v7.50 ships with Permission Set Groups related to the new Payment Methods feature. These PSGs are designed for specific user roles within the Chargent application. Chargent v7.50 also delivers new Permission Sets related to Payment Methods, which are designed for specific tasks.
Notes
- Chargent admins may now assign PSGs to users from Chargent Settings > Global Settings > Manage User Permissions
- The user who installs the Chargent Orders package will be automatically assigned the Chargent Administrator Permission Set Group

Chargent Order Object – New Field – Billing Contact #
A Billing Contact lookup field has been added to the Chargent Order object. This addition enriches the quality of the data stored as it pertains to payments and payers. This field is also used in the deduplication logic delivered with the new Payment Methods feature, and allows for greater accuracy in the efforts of preventing duplicate payment methods from being stored.

Take Payment Component – Persisting Loading #
Fixed an issue wherein the Take Payment LWC displayed a persisting loading icon instead of showing a payment confirmation.
Payment Request – Country Picklist Field Obscured #
Fixed an issue wherein the Country picklist on the Payment Request payment form was obscured by the page footer.
