The Challenge:

Since 1981 Tuff Shed has built and installed more than one million sheds, garages, recreational buildings, and commercial structures – each customized to the customer’s specifications. Tuff Shed is currently serving customers in all lower 48 states. Their retail stores were using classic credit card terminals lacking the latest PCI compliance tools, leaving the company open to significant risk. Payment amounts needed to be manually entered into the terminal, then again into the ERP and CRM systems which understandably led to many errors and workflow inefficiencies. This led to:

The Solution:

Tuff Shed needed a solution that would allow them to accept all modern forms of payment, and email customers a payment request. A strong CPQ and ERP integration was required, so customers transactions their website would directly integrate into their CRM and CPQ.

They selected Chargent, Chargent Terminal and Salesforce CPQ to centralize all custom configuration, quoting, and payment transactions on the Salesforce platform.

The Results:
Seven-figure savings in processing fees

The With Chargent and Salesforce CPQ, Tuff Shed has improved completion rates, closing the gap on customer projects that went unfinished due to payment issues. They:

  • Realized a 90% reduction in bad debt
  • Have saved more than $1M in processing fees
  • Are able to request payments via both credit and ACH
