The Dreamforce experience is unlike any other tech conference: every fall, tens of thousands of trailblazers converge on downtown San Francisco and on Salesforce+ to discover new products, gain technical expertise, and hear from luminaries like Matthew McConaughey and Jane Goodall (to name just a few).

This year’s event is slated for September 12-14, 2023.

With so much offered, how do you make the most of your Dreamforce experience? To find out, we asked some of the veteran Dreamforce attendees on our team to share their top tips. Read on to learn how you can have a successful – and FUN – Dreamforce 2023.

How to Get to Dreamforce 2023

Tune in on Salesforce+

If you can’t attend in person, you can still be a part of the conversation on the future of AI + Data + CRM. Salesforce is offering a rich virtual experience on Salesforce+. Tune in to stream live Dreamforce events, or watch hundreds of on-demand episodes on your own schedule.

Know Before You Go

Make a Plan

With thousands of sessions scheduled over three days, it is essential to plan your schedule before you go. Experienced Dreamforce attendees recommend booking your agenda as soon as the Agenda Builder becomes available, as many sessions require registration to get in and fill up fast.

In addition, don’t forget to leave time for networking opportunities with your fellow trailblazers after sessions. And map your route! The Moscone Center is a big place, and the Dreamforce campus is even bigger. But don’t stress if you find yourself double-booked – many sessions will be available on-demand after the event.

Book A Meeting

Some of the most valuable learning you’ll do at Dreamforce will come from the connections you make. Build this into your plan where you can, and arrange meetings ahead of time with any colleagues or collaborators who will be there.

Arranging meetings ahead of time with colleagues or collaborators who will be attending Dreamforce 2023 is a great way to maximize your learning experience at the event. By connecting with others in your industry or field, you can exchange ideas, share insights, and potentially form valuable partnerships.

To make the most of these connections, consider reaching out to your contacts before the event to schedule meetings or networking opportunities, and ensure that you have dedicated time to connect and learn from each other during Dreamforce 2023.

If one of your 2023 Salesforce goals is to discover new ways to drive revenue for your organization, make sure to Book a Beer with the Chargent team – we’d love to run the ROI on improving cash flow and lowering DSO by automating your collections process directly in Salesforce.

Go on a Quest

The experts at Salesforce know a thing or two about preparing for a great Dreamforce experience. Take the Road to Dreamforce 2023 Quest for a chance to collect Trailblazer Stamps, and win cool prizes and Dreamforce gear – you’ll want that Trailblazer hoodie for chilly San Francisco evenings.

What to Bring, Wear, and Do

Pack a Phone Charger

The Salesforce Events app will serve as your roadmap while you’re on the Dreamforce campus. Make sure you can stay connected. Pack a portable power bank for your phone – and don’t forget to charge it!

Wear Your Most Comfortable Shoes

Shoes are kind of a big deal at Dreamforce – so don’t forget to pack your most comfortable kicks. You’ll log quite a few steps over the three days of Dreamforce, so come prepared!

Rock Out with the Foo Fighters

AI aside, the Foo Fighters show at The Concert for Kids, benefiting UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, is expected to be one of the most talked-about events at Dreamforce 2023. This concert is a great opportunity to enjoy live music while supporting a good cause. Attendees can look forward to a memorable experience and contribute to the mission of helping children in need.

Strike Up a Conversation

Our advice for Dreamforce is a lot like our advice for the first day of school – eat lunch with someone you don’t know! Grab a lunch box, join a table, and start chatting – you never know who you will meet.

Some great questions to ask your new acquaintances:

  • What project are you working on that you hope to learn more about here at Dreamforce?
  • What do you think the big keynote announcements will be this year?
  • What do you do when you aren’t working and learning about Salesforce?

Follow Up!

When you return to work after Dreamforce, it will be tempting to dive back into work to catch up on everything you missed. Make sure to set aside time to foster new connections, investigate new discoveries, and take note of new learnings to implement. The magic of Dreamforce can last all year – if you capture it!
